Oadby and Wigston Butty Making Exercise
Aim of Exercise
- To go shopping for supplies and estimate quantities needed,
- To make hot Bacon and vegetarian sausages butties, cold cheese butties, and tiger pots of tea and coffee in Wigston
- To transport them by car to Bushloe keeping the hot butties hot and everything
in good shape. Everything except the shopping and Gas boiler exercise to be accomplished within one hour
- To put together and light gas boiler correctly

Aim successfully achieved - excess tea coffee and sugar were saved for real emergency

Lesson learnt:-
whole butty needs to be wrapped in foil and placed in oven to warmed before being packed in container
Cheese Butties

Food, beverages and crockery arrived within 45 minutes of start of exercise
However teaspoons not taken by first carload did not arrive until 15 mins later when clearing up team brought them
Leson learnt - Make list for first transport team to check
Gas boiler
Could not be used because part missing
It subsequently transpired that part is no longer available
Lesson learnt - All equipment must be checked at frequent intervals
(Luclily this was an old boiler we were uncertain about. We have two modern ones in the Storage space at Enderby)
Conclusion
It was worth undertaking this exercise. All team suggestions for improving our service have been acted on.
