B/C1947 Eric Minns and I were cheeky enough to apply for the 2 weeks local leave the PP had each year. Cheeky because we had only been in Palestine for 9 months by then. We decided to go to Tiberias. The condition was that we had to live in the Tegart there. It was early November 1947 and the weather was glorious. We spent most of the time in a boat on the Lake and swimming, and sitting in a Cafe talking to a buxom girl called Helen.
