Plant Index

This project began as a database for my garden diary. As I read through my list I wondered what experiences my friends had had of the plants I grew and I thought this could turn into collaborative project, but a pure catalogue of plants and their likes and dislikes seemed a bit boring, why shouldn't we share all aspects of our experiences with gardens and gardening.
I envisaged a project celebrating the many ways people round the world enjoy their plants and gardens and hoped that it would evolve into a literary site in the spirit of the great Victorian garden writers
